This configuration guide will assist you with manually configuring your version 2 or 3 iConnect ADSL modem to connect using PPPoE (a.k.a. "router" mode). Before you start, there are some things you need to check:
- Is your computer connected directly to the iConnect modem? If not, please connect your computer to the modem, preferably with the yellow Ethernet cable.
- Is your computer configured correctly? Check our guides for Windows XP and Mac OSX .
- Is your modem the correct revision for this guide? This guide is only for version 2 or 3 of the iConnectAccess 621 - check our iConnect version guide to make sure you're following the right instructions.
Here's how:
Load the modem's configuration screen in your browser (Internet Explorer if you're using Windows, Safari if you're on a Mac). The address you need to go to is http://192.168.1.254/.

You'll need to log in - the username is root, the password is 0P3N (username in lower case, password in upper case). You can also find these details on a sticker on the base of the modem. Click Log In.
Click the Setup tab up the top, then look at the items listed under WAN Setup on the left hand side. If you have two items, your modem hasn't been configured - check the "Modem not yet configured" section below. If you have three, your modem is already configured - skip to the "Modem already configured" section below.
