Netcomm NB5 USB Setup - Windows 2000

  1. Place the Netcomm NB5 ADSL Installation CD in the CD-ROM Drive.

  2. Connect the USB cable to the computer making sure the other end is connected to the NB5 ADSL modem.

  3. The Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box will appear.



    Click Next.

  4. The Install Hardware Device Drivers dialog box will appear.



    Select the option "Search for a suitable driver for my device" then click Next.

  5. The Locate Driver Files dialog box will appear.



    Tick only CD-ROM drives then click Next to continue.

  6. The Driver Files Search Results dialog box will appear.



    Click Next to continue.

  7. The Digital Signature dialog box will appear.



    Click Yes to continue.

  8. The Found New Hardware completion dialog box will appear.



    Click Finish to complete the USB driver installation.

  9. Open your Internet Browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox etc), and type at the address bar: http://192.168.1.1
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
  10. Internet Explorer will launch and display the dialog below. If you experience trouble viewing this dialog, your browsers proxy settings may need disabling.



    In the Username field type admin followed by typing admin again in the Password field. Then click Log In.

  11. The account details dialog box will appear as shown below.


    Enter all details as shown above except the User ID and Password which are specific to your account. If you are unsure of these details, please check your service summary sheet provided with your modem. After you have entered all details, click Connect.

  12. The NB5 ADSL modem will attempt to connect using your account details.


    Please wait while this process takes place.

  13. The connection information dialog will appear as shown below.


    The above dialog indicates you are now connected to Hotkey Broadband.

    NOTE: If the NB5 ADSL modem fails to make a connection using your account configuration, the dialog below will appear.



    This indicates you have entered the username and or password incorrect. To attempt configuring your NB5 ADSL modem again, click OK.

  14. To save your account configuration to the NB5 ADSL modem, click Save Settings as shown below.



    The modem will now save your configuration.



    Click OK.

  15. Your NB5 ADSL modem is now configured and ready to surf the net. If you experience problems viewing webpages, a restart of your computer maybe required.
