WS FTP Home Configuration PDF Print E-mail

To configure your computer running WS FTP Home, follow the step-by-step procedure below. If you experience problems with your computer while proceding through the setup instructions, please visit the Troubleshooting section of this site for more information.

1. Close any programs you have open.

2. Open WS FTP Home

3. The WS FTP will load and show a dialog box similar to the one shown below.



Click on the File -> Connect, then click on Connection Wizard

4. Step 1 of the Connection Wizard will appear.



Type Hotkey Web Space in the Site Name field. Then click Next to continue.

5. Step 2 of the Connection Wizard will appear.



Type your username and password in the fields provided. These are the same login creditials as your Hotkey Internet account (full Hotkey email address). Click Next to continue.

6. Step 3 of the Connection Wizard will appear.



Make sure the Connection Type is set to FTP then click Next to continue.

7. The last step of the Connection Wizard will appear.



To connect to the Hotkey Webspace straight away, use the left mouse button to place a tick in Connect to this site. Click Finish to complete the Connection Wizard and start using your Hotkey Web Space.

You must upload all your .html (or .htm) files in the public_html folder.
You may then view your site at http://www.hotkey.net.au/~(your Hotkey username)/(your page that you uploaded)

For example, if your Hotkey username was This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and you uploaded a file called myhome.html in the correct folder (public_html) your page can be viewed at http://www.hotkey.net.au/~testuser/myhome.html
